So, at my old game (really, my first important game, let us call it the My Doctor of my RP history), Dissendium, there was this character Kelly played called Lexy Lane. Lexy was a girl genius but Kelly was actually intelligent enough to play her, and didn't make a big deal of it most of the time. She ended up hooking my Sirius into a serious relationship, which no one else ever has, and no one else ever will, since he was a one-time, four-year deal. (Probably.)
When Lexy died, it was a big deal. We'd had it planned out for years, literally. She was the smartest person in her year- in the school. She was smart to the point of disability. And they killed her around the start of her seventh year, and we'd prepared. Kelly had collected obituaries from the rest of us, and prepared an epic five-part goodbye for Lexy. It was some of the best writing we ever did. It was a well-deserved goodbye.
I'm reposting my parts of the epilogue here, because I just re-read it for the first time in a few years, and it's still writing I'm proud of. It's a good example of some of my best work, and it makes me all giddy and excited for KILLING CHARACTERS.
( Without further ado. )
